Addressing a world press conference on the event in Lagos on Tuesday, the Chairman of the Dedication Committee, Senior Apostle Yemi Ogunbiyi, said the new Cathedral, took nine years to be completed and has fulfilled the prophecy of Baba Aladura Samuel Amodu Adewunmi (Orimolade III) which he made in 1952, that a bigger prayer house would be built by the Church.
Said he: “The contract for the re-building of the Cathedral into an ultra-modern edifice was awarded on 13th March 2008 and the foundation was laid in June 2008 by Baba Aladura Emmanuel Oludotun Okeyemi, Orimolade Vll (2005-2010).
“The beautiful and imposing edifice has a spacious conference room, a clinic, a Chapel, male and female vestries, choristers’ room, two secretariats, sound and multi-media room, children and Elder- in-Charge’s lounges, en-suite gatehouse, male and female toilets and ample car parks. By the time furniture, sound and multi-media equipment and other fittings are installed, the ultra-modern Cathedral project, 90% financed by members, would have cost N500 million,” Senior Apostle Ogunbiyi added.
HME Bob-Manuel will lead other Eminent Elders to perform the dedication of the new Cathedral, which is also expected to be graced by Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, spiritual, traditional and political leaders.
