Major Shake-up in ESOCS Administration as HME Bob-Manuel Implements Reforms… By Mike Oduniyi
In line with his pledge to implement reforms in the Holy Order, Baba Aladura Dr. David D.L. Bob-Manuel (Moses Orimolade IX) and Prelate of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, has approved the creation of five new directorates to strengthen administration across all levels of the Church.
Also, in a welcome move, Baba Aladura Bob-Manuel approved that female members of the church should commence reading of the First Lesson during Sunday services ending decades of agitation by female members of the Church.
In a statement released by the Senior Apostle General and Secretary to the Holy Order, Elder (Dr.) Napo Emuchay, the five directorates, each to be headed by an Assistant Secretary, are:
· The Directorate of Administration
· The Directorate of Evangelism, Ecumenism and Mision
· The Directorate of Finance
· The Directorate of Training, and
· The Directorate of Special Projects and Logistics.
To consolidate the leadership position of ESOCS in the Christian community, the Prelate also mandated all Central Management Councils (CMCs) in the church to establish Nursery and Primary schools within their constituencies within the next five years.
“In the event of that any of Province has expanse of land that could facilitate the establishment of a secondary school or any other development project, such information should be communicated to the Office of the Secretary to the Order, National Headquarters, as soon as possible,” the SAG urged.
Upon his induction in September, 2017, HME Bob-Manuel held town hall meetings with two associations in the church, the Women Association and the Mount Zion Youth Society in the bid to fashion out a comprehensive and effective long-term plan for the Church.
A key component of the suggestions, recommendations and programmes submitted during sessions with the Baba Aladura, was the demand by the Women Association to allow female members take on Bible Lesson reading during services which has now been granted by the Prelate.
Further to the reform plans, HME BOB-Manuel also directed that each CMC must encourage the establishment of Guest Houses for the purposes of accommodation for Elders and members during pastoral visits and other engagements.
“His Most Eminence, the Baba Aladura envisions the possibility of the Holy Order ceasing from expenditure in hotel accommodation in the near future,” the SAG stated.
Earlier, the SAG had made it known that during the 2017 Annual Conference, only junior or Provisional ordinations would hold until further notice.
