“Today a beautiful page has been closed since this beautiful soul passed on to join the Saints.”
Encomiums poured in torrents on Thursday, April 20, 2017 as the late Mother Seraph of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim, Mother Seraph Comfort Remilekun Abeni Ogunnaike (nee Jolafa), was laid to rest.

Activities marking her glorious rite of passage started on Monday, April 17th, when who is who in women associations of ESOCS, led by the Eternal Sisters Association, gathered for service of songs held for family members, community and neighbors of our later Mother Seraph , at her residence in Abesan Housing Estate, Ipaja, Lagos.

This was followed by another service of songs held at the prestigious Eagle Club Event Centre, Surulere, Lagos, hosted by Mount Zion General Headquarters and Ebute Metta Province and well attended by ESOCS members, bands, associations from all provinces in Lagos state and beyond, testifying to the glory of God on the life of the departed mother Seraph.

At the all night wake-keep service for Mother Seraph Ogunnaike, held on Wednesday, April 19th, also at the Eagle Club Event Centre, members of the Holy Order led by the Advisory Board, demonstrated that the passage of Mother Seraph was a glorious one and that mama has indeed gone to join the Triumphant Saints.

At the funeral service which held at the sprawling Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS), Lagos,
dignitaries from all works of life, including former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Femi Pedro, thronged the venue from far and near to pay their last respect and glowing tributes to the late Mother Seraph Ogunnaike, who everyone described in affectionate terms and superlative adjectives.

Firing the first salvo was the tribute by the Advisory Board of the Holy Order, delivered by the SAG/Secretary to the Holy Order, Elder (Dr.) Napo Emuchay. The Board described later Mother Seraph Ogunnaike as a warm, charming and friendly personality, an emerald, a beautiful person to know.
“You showed your love for God and ESOCS Church through your activities and the way you carried yourself joyously in all ceremonies. You have left all who are fortunate to know you with good memories,” the Board stated.

According to Board: “Today a beautiful page has been closed since this beautiful soul passed on to join the Saints. We dare not grieve or mourn any longer, we are comforted knowing that you lived a good life and has gone to be with the saints dwelling in the presence of God forever.”

In his short exhortation, His Eminence Elder (Dr.) Adewunmi eulogized our late Mother Seraph as an epitome of love. According to Elder Adewunmi, Mother Ogunnaike during her lifetime practiced the two golden laws as handed down by our Lord Jesus Christ –
Love God who created you, and Love your fellow human beings.
“Are we obeying the will of God; are we showing love to our fellow human beings, our neighbours, fellow church members,” he asked, while admonishing all present at the funeral service to emulate the contributions of late Mother Ogunnaike in festering love amongst all members of the Holy Order.

In her short tribute, Mother Cherub J. Otubu, said the ESOCS church would indeed miss her smile, dancing steps and the love showed to all. “Above all, women of ESOCS will miss your advise,” Mother Cherub said.

Mother Seraph Ogunnaike was interred at the Ikoyi Vaults & Gardens, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The outing thanksgiving service will hold on Sunday, April 23rd at Mount Zion General Headquarters, Odunfa Street, Lagos.
